Uses both instant yeast and a starter.
This recipe is great because it gives you a bit of the sourdough flavor with white breads fluffy texture. It is also perfect for the cold winter months when yeast activity is low.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sour Dough Starter
1 1/2 Tbsp. Instant Yeast
3/4 Cup Warm Water
3 Cups Bread Flour
1 tsp. Salt
In the bowl of an electric mixer, dissolve the instant yeast in the warm water and add a cup of starter. Add bread flour and salt. Attach a dough hook to your mixer and knead for 5 minutes on medium speed. Turn the dough out and knead for another 5 minutes by hand. Cover the dough and let rest until it has doubled in size.
Next, punch down and form your loaf shape and allow to ferment once more. When your dough has doubled in size, preheat your oven to 450 degrees. When the oven has heated, slash your dough and cook for 30 minutes. Let cool before slicing.
